Cousins...
One nice thing about a public web site dedicated to the genealogy work (now Beards, Heaths, Places, Buckingham, etc.) that others find connections to the research. Sometimes these connections prove very valuable as they allow research by different individuals to connect, instantly expanding the information and the picture of the entire line.
This has happened recently with the Heath/Graham line (with Nataniel Ferguson Graham and his descendents) and is also happening with lines with Edward Beard (who previously the connection to the Thomas Beard line was uncertain) and now with John Beard descedents.
My line is descended from John Beard (very early settler of Greenbrier County who migrated from Staunton, VA after the revolutionary war) through his son Josiah Jonas (who settled in Pocahontas County). Another prominent son of John Beard was Samuel Beard, who was the sheriff of Greenbrier County and founded a large family of Beards there.
I was contacted this week by Thea Carter, a descendent of John Beard through his son Samuel. She has done a lot of research on the Beard line and hopefully our research efforts can come together.
Always good to connect with Cousins...
